Master data setup
Set up the reusable lists that power the dropdowns throughout VehicleERP.
Master data is the set of reusable lists that appear as dropdown options across VehicleERP — makes, models, colours, expense categories, document types, and more. Setting these up once means faster, more consistent data entry later.
Do this early
Set up your master data before adding vehicles. If an option is missing when you're entering a vehicle, you'll have to stop, add it here, and come back.
The lists you can manage
- Vehicle catalogue — makes, models, and versions.
- Specifications — colours, body types, fuels, transmissions, number of owners, car features, loan providers.
- Insurance — policies and policy companies.
- Expense heads — categories for the money you spend.
- Documents — the document types you'll upload against vehicles (RC book, insurance copy, etc.).
How master data works
Every list works the same way:
- Open the list from the menu (e.g. Master → Colours).
- Tap Add to create a new entry, fill in the name, and save.
- Use the search box to find entries, and the row actions to edit or delete.
- Set an entry's status to Inactive to hide it from dropdowns without deleting it.
