FAQ & troubleshooting
Answers to common questions and fixes for common problems.
Logging in
I didn't get my OTP. Check that you entered your registered mobile number and wait a few moments. If it still doesn't arrive, or you've tried several times, wait a little and request a new code — too many attempts temporarily pauses new codes. Still stuck? Ask your Admin to confirm your registered number.
The code says it expired. OTPs are valid only briefly for security. Just request a new one.
Permissions & access
I can't see a menu or button I expect. You may not have permission for that feature, or it may belong to another branch. Ask your Admin to check your permissions.
I can only see my branch's data. That's by design — branch and employee users see only their own branch. Only Admins see across all branches. See Roles.
Adding vehicles
I can't create a vehicle. Make sure Merchant Settings is complete — especially the vehicle type and financial year. A missing setting blocks vehicle creation.
An option is missing from a dropdown. Add it in Master data (e.g. a new colour or model), then return to the vehicle form.
Purchase, sale & ledger
It won't let me add a partner / record a sale. VehicleERP enforces an order. You must record the purchase and its payment first; if there's a partner, the partner loan must be entered before the sale. The on-screen message tells you exactly what's missing.
I can't edit the purchase / partner / sale details anymore. Those details lock once real money is recorded against them in the ledger, to protect your records. See Lifecycle overview.
It says I "can't add more than…" an amount. VehicleERP won't let you record more than what's actually owed at each step (e.g. paying more than the purchase amount, or returning more than a partner loaned). Check the figure you entered.
Money & GST
Why is the GST small compared to the sale price? For used vehicles, GST is charged on your profit (sale price minus total cost), not the full sale amount. See Recording the sale.
My profit looks wrong. Profit depends on your recorded total cost. Make sure the purchase amount and all expenses for the vehicle are entered.
